Whom can you really trust?
Anonymous are a group of people that fight for a free
internet, like a digital Robin Hood. They don’t want the internet to be
censored or controlled by the governments. Even though no one knows who they
are, they have made pretty amazing things, and they have members from all over
the world. One thing they have done that is rather well known is “Operation
Payback”. It was a coordinated group of attacks by internet activist aimed
towards banks who had cancel the payments to WikiLeaks. The cyber-attack they
made was a so called DDoS. From this action, it followed a lot of attacks on
other anti-piracy organizations like law firms and sites that has a connection
with anti-piracy.
Wikileaks is a site that exposes hidden and secret
information from the high profile governments. I think it’s a good thing they
do even though I’m not usually on that site or interested in what’s on there,
but I don’t think the government should hide information from the public. We
have rights to know what’s happening in the world and information should not be
hidden. Of course they don’t hide everything but it’s most financial, political
and military information that is hidden by the government. I actually think the
government tries to manipulate the public a bit. I think this is because they hide information
about things they do, and only tell the public the things they want us to know
and therefore we don’t get a real picture of how it really is.
Everything that says on the news and are written on
the internet or in newspapers are not always true either. That’s why you have
to be critical when you reading or listening to the media. They might say the
truth most of the times but maybe not the whole truth, because they might not have
more information or might not be allowed by the government to tell specific
things.
